GUPT was released in 1997 and was a superhit, both in terms of film and music. It was in my opinion the most conventional and popular film score of the late 90`s. Lyrics are by Anand Bakshi and music, Viju SHAH.What I liked more of GUPT was it`s techno beats, westernized and sythesized instrumentalism and conventional sounds which successfully leave the impression on listeners of the film`s danger and suspense story!` Duniya Haseeno Ka Mela` by Udit and Sunita Rao (background vocals) is a great song with a lot of experimentation along the track, but I think that the starting could have been better.Next is ` Mushkil Bada Yeh Pyaar Hai` with Udit and Alka. It is another well-composed song, but this time with many repetitive great percussive backbeats. The music may deliver a strange and somewhat too-artificial feel, but this song seems to have more life in the stereo system rather in the film itself.NOTE: Bobby`s facial expressions in this song were R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S. Yet, I think that he did a good job overall in GUPT!
I liked him very much in this film.` Gupt Gupt`by Kavita Krishanmurthy and Hema Sardesai, with Chetan (as background vocals) is the most innovative track of the album. This song has maybe the best usage of instruments and seems to be targeted to most listeners. This certainly makes it the most popular song of the entire album!` Mere Khabon Mein tu`with Alka Yagnik, Kumar Sanu is the only song in the album which is pretty ordinary or simple compared to the other songs. Singing is average and music is the best aspect. Nothing much to say about this song, but hearing it in a stereo system, there`s 60-70% chance that you`ll never know that the song`s actually from GUPT!` Mere Sanam` by Sadhna Sargam, Udit Narayan is the song I like the most in the album. It has a very fast treatment and many electronic instruments, including conventional westernized music and seems moreless like a remix.` Yeh Pyaasi Mohabatt` is the song of unrequitted love and I don`t really appreciate this song cuz the music far-too artificial for the film itself and lyrics-wise, has nothing new!Just plain average singing by Alka!And finally, ` Yeh Pyaar Kya Hai` with Alka, Kumar Sanu and Kavita Krishnamurthy is a song which starts off with an innovative, long and tricky prelude, only to finish off normally like most songs.

However, the singing is really good this time!Gupt is a really good album, and I even think it`s one of the best releases of the late 90`s. But I think that the songs find more life in the stereo system rather than in the film!Except from a song or two, I recommend this album because all the songs are really great and extraordinary music!
